3T Power Partners with Corick House Hotel & Spa

We believe renewable energy works best when it supports businesses that are committed to long-term responsibility, resilience and positive impact. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Corick House Hotel & Spa, a luxurious destination situated on a private estate in picturesque Clogher Valley Countryside, County Tyrone, now powered by 100% renewable electricity from 3T Power.

This partnership brings together a shared vision, protecting the environment whilst delivering exceptional guest experiences for decades to come.

Sustainability at the heart of Corick House

For Corick House, sustainability is deeply embedded in how the business operates day-to-day, guided by its responsibility to protect a historic estate and the surrounding rural community. As Sinead Kiss, HR Manager at Corick House Hotel & Spa notes, “Sustainability is central to Corick House because we operate within a historic building, estate and rural community that we are committed to protecting for future generations”. From daily operational decisions to long-term planning, sustainability shapes every aspect of the estate. Practical actions such as investing in solar energy, reducing single-use plastics, improving energy efficiency, and prioritising local suppliers are embedded across the business. Sinead notes, “Ultimately, sustainability at Corick House is about balance: protecting our historic estate, supporting our people and community, and ensuring the business remains resilient, responsible and relevant for the next 30 years and beyond”.

Choosing 3T Power as a renewable energy partner

When it came to selecting an electricity provider, Corick House sought a partner that aligned with its values. Kiss continues, “Our decision to partner with 3T Power was driven by a shared commitment to sustainability and long-term energy resilience”. 3T Power’s focus on supplying renewable electricity generated in Northern Ireland, and added emphasis on transparency and traceability made the partnership a natural fit, supporting Corick House’s sustainability ambitions without compromising on reliability or guest experience.

Powering the entire estate with 100% renewable energy

The renewable electricity supplied by 3T Power supports every corner of the Corick House estate. This includes the 43-bedroom hotel, restaurants, bars, kitchens, four function rooms, including the Orchid Suite ballroom which can host up to 500 guests, and the spa facilities with treatment, thermal, and relaxation areas.

Behind the scenes, renewable power also supports offices, laundry, lighting, heating controls, and essential technology systems, ensuring the smooth, efficient, and sustainable operation of a large hospitality business. Kiss notes, “The electricity supplied by 3T Power is used across the entire Corick House Hotel & Spa estate”.

Turning sustainability ambitions into measurable actions

Looking ahead, Corick House has clear sustainability goals focused on reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, and embedding responsible practices across daily operations. Kiss states, “Our main sustainability targets are to further reduce our carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency, and continue embedding responsible practices into our day-to-day operations”. 3T Power plays a key role in supporting these ambitions by providing renewable electricity, clean energy insights, and dedicated guidance to enable measurable progress over time.

Energy is just one part of Corick House’s wider sustainability strategy. The estate continues to phase out single-use plastics, improve waste segregation and recycling, invest in water efficient systems, and prioritise local and regional suppliers to reduce food miles while supporting the local economy.

A partnership designed for the future

Corick House views its relationship with 3T Power as a long-term collaboration that will continue to evolve. “As we look ahead, we see 3T Power as a long-term strategic partner in our sustainability journey,” Sinead adds. With transparent reporting, renewable solutions, and ongoing customer support, the partnership will help Corick House remain at the forefront of sustainable energy practices within the hospitality sector. Reflecting on the partnership so far, Sinead notes, “Our experience working with the 3T Power team has been extremely positive, with a professional, knowledgeable and supportive approach from all”.

And for other organisations considering the move to renewable energy?

Reflecting on Corick House’s experience to date with 3T Power, Sinead recommends making the switch for other local businesses pursuing sustainability objectives. “Choose 3T Power if you are looking for a knowledgeable, transparent and sustainability-focused energy partner who supports long-term, practical solutions rather than short-term fixes,” she advises.

When the colder weather arrives, businesses begin to brace for higher heating bills and increased heating and energy demands. Factories, warehouses, and offices all increase their energy usage to ensure staff are kept warm, productivity is maintained and stock and supplies are protected. Whilst increased energy usage and heating demand is a long-standing issue throughout winter, it is a lesser-known fact that wind energy also performs more consistently and powerfully in winter. Often misunderstood, or underestimated during the winter months, wind power is a stable, scalable, and dependable force. At 3T Power, we believe that wind power is the future of Northern Ireland.

Winter brings several challenges to the stability and reliability of the electrical grid, more so than in the summer months. Longer periods darkness and bitter cold temperatures lead to an increased demand on heating sources. Dually, certain energy sources like solar are slightly less productive, due to shorter and cloudier days.

Naturally, wind energy generation depends on wind; and yet, not all seasons generate an equal amount of wind speed. In many climates, wind speeds are often higher and more consistent during the winter months because of stronger atmospheric pressure systems in colder weather creating more powerful and consistent winds. There is often a significant temperature difference between the equator and poles, which fuels an increased level of jet stream and surface wind. Longer nights and denser air, can also increase wind turbine efficiency. These factors combine to give wind farms a performance boost during winter, the most optimal time for the grid. Whilst other sources may struggle with supply distribution, or weather constraints, wind continues to power on.

There’s a common misconception surrounding the reliability of renewable energy, and a suggestion that renewable energy is not a comparable source for electricity. This is not the case; wind power has evolved quickly and effectively, with the aim of integration. Advances in technology and developments in forecasting make wind production incredibly predictable, often ahead of time. Closely, due to advancements in technology, there has been an increase in the number of turbines generating electricity, leading to a diversified system across different areas which ensures that if the wind isn’t blowing in one area, it will be in another, minimising the effects on the production of wind power.

Wind power isn’t just reliable; it is also incredibly scalable. Scalability is a huge factor when considering the effectiveness of wind energy. Wind farms can be built incredibly quickly in comparison to large fossil fuel facilities. In tandem, new turbines can be added as demand rises.

As climate change continues to accelerate, with rising global temperatures and extreme weather conditions, the need for resilient, decentralised power sources is a more urgent priority. Wind power contributes to grid stability by reducing dependence on traditional fossil fuels, enabling management of price spikes, and increasing energy stability. When fossil fuel supplies are disrupted due to increased demand, poor weather conditions, or other disruptions – the wind continues to blow.

As we look to build a cleaner, more resilient energy future, wind power is at the forefront. With stronger performance, increased reliability, and continued scalability, wind energy repeatedly steps up to the challenge. At 3T Power, we are leading the energy revolution that is sweeping across Northern Ireland, with wind power. Get in touch to learn more about how your business can join the renewable revolution in Northern Ireland.

Kestrel Foods, the family-owned company behind the much-loved Forest Feast snack brand, has built its reputation on quality, innovation, and a deep commitment to sustainability. Founded in Northern Ireland, the business is setting the standard for responsible food production including focuses on ethical sourcing and waste reduction to community and environmental initiatives. Through partnership with 3T Power, the team at Kestrel Foods are taking another major step on their sustainability journey: powering their Portadown-based operations with 100% locally generated renewable electricity.

Powering renewable partnership through shared values

Reinforcing their belief that sustainability shouldn’t be an afterthought but at the heart of every decision, Kestrel Foods have embedded responsible practices throughout its operations, investing in reforestation, implementing a full recycling programme, and maintaining a strict zero waste-to-landfill policy.

Having already embraced green energy, Kestrel Foods also have plans to install solar panels at one of its sites to further enhance their energy self-sufficiency. Commenting on the company’s commitment to their sustainability objectives Ryan McCavigan, Head of Engineering and Sustainability said, “Sustainability isn’t a side project for us. It shapes the decisions we make. We want to actively do good, so we’ve invested in initiatives that make a real impact.”

Parting with 3T Power was a natural progression for the company already well on its way in their sustainability journey. Being able to source 100% locally-generated, renewable energy not only further reduced Kestrel Foods’ carbon footprint but also impacted the bottom line through lower electricity bills. “From the very first conversation, it was clear that 3T’s values were closely aligned with ours, and the process of switching was seamless and transparent thanks to hands-on customer support.” Ryan added.

Through 3T Power’s Renewable Energy Adjustment (REA) tariff, Kestrel Foods is benefitting from price transparency, traceable local energy generation, and the assurance that their electricity is sourced exclusively from Northern Ireland-based renewable generators.

Commenting on their continued support of local businesses 3T Power Sales Manager John Francis Collins said, “We’re proud to partner with innovative, values-driven companies across Northern Ireland like Kestrel Foods. Our goal is to support them every step of the way as they progress on their sustainability journey.”

The alignment between both companies goes beyond renewable supply. Kestrel Foods views 3T Power as an essential part of its long-term decarbonisation strategy. “Having a reliable partner that enables us to keep pushing forward and do better for the environment gives us confidence as we grow,” Ryan added.

“Working with 3T has been a genuinely positive experience,” says the Kestrel Foods team. John Francis and the team take the time to break down what can be a complex subject into clear, practical terms, and there’s a personal touch — you don’t feel like just another customer. That trust is what builds long-term partnerships.”

Their work aligns with key goals of the circular economy by keeping resources in use and within the usage cycle, minimising waste and emissions, and delivering environment and economic value to local communities.

For 3T Power, this focus becomes evident through our continued work with local businesses, providing them with access to 100% locally generated renewable electricity, sourced from wind, solar, and waste-to-energy generation. Rather than promoting the usage of traditional fossil fuels – which are derived from finite resources, can damage the environment, and are impacted by price fluctuations due to weather disruptions, tariffs, and political upheaval – 3T Power’s approach focuses on energy production and consumption within Northern Ireland, creating a more self-sufficient and sustainable energy supply model. Our mission extends across many sectors, from hospitality and education, to manufacturing and community venues.

ReCon Waste Management, is focused on turning ‘waste’ materials including street sweepings, construction soil, and industrial waste into valuable resources, bypassing landfill and putting these valuable resources back into the construction trade. By developing safe, approved recycling systems and recovered products including top soil, pre-mixed concrete, and concrete products, amongst others, ReCon ensures that what was once ‘waste’ can be reused in construction, landscaping, and regeneration projects. ReCon collaborates with councils and private sector clients, diverting waste materials and repurposing and redefining them whilst also producing a range of innovative products which bring real innovation and value to the market.

With a shared commitment to preserving our natural landscapes – ReCon by reducing reliance on quarried resources and limiting the amount of waste resource going to landfill, and 3T Power by harnessing the power of naturally occurring wind and other sources of energy  to deliver directly to business clients across the province – we are working together to show how collaboration on a local level can benefit our local landscape as well as our local economies.

Looking Forward – Innovation, Scale and Continued Collaboration

Looking forward, 3T Power and ReCon are focused on growth through innovation and continued partnership. We are continuing to invest in growing our generation capacity across Northern Ireland whilst advocating for stronger collaboration between energy users, local authorities, and renewable generators to speed up the transition to clean power.

ReCon, on the other hand, continues to and develop new systems to recover a continuously diversifying range of materials from waste streams. The company’s ambition is to turn waste into resource, developing products that are sustainable and circular by design.

Together, we are encouraging other Northern Irish businesses to consider a shift toward collaboration where waste, energy, water, and land use are planned and managed in a connected, circular way.

Business owners and brand representatives will have the opportunity to directly connect with the 3T Power team, and learn more about energy efficiency, sustainability, and how businesses can lower their carbon footprints.

In a world where environmental responsibility is no longer optional, the move towards sustainable business practices isn’t just about doing the right thing; it’s about staying competitive, resilient, and future-ready.

We know that a shift to sustainability begins with energy. As Northern Ireland’s only independent renewable electricity supplier, we enable local businesses to reach their sustainability goals by supplying 100% renewable energy, much of it generated from wind. But the benefits of a greener operating model go far beyond the switch to renewables.

Here’s why businesses across Northern Ireland are embracing sustainability and how it pays off in more ways than one:

  1. Operational Efficiency & Cost Control

Sustainability and efficiency are important to all businesses. Energy-efficient operations reduce waste, streamline workflows, and cut overheads, especially when paired with smart energy strategies. Switching to renewable electricity, for instance, shields your business from the volatility of fossil fuel markets and future-proofs your bottom line.

Our local, green energy solutions are not only reliable but offer greater price transparency. By supporting wind power from local producers, you’re not only reducing emissions, you’re also investing in energy independence and predictability.

  1. Stronger Brand Reputation & Customer Loyalty

Today’s customers, stakeholders, and investors are holding businesses to higher environmental standards. A strong commitment to sustainability can set your brand apart, build trust, and attract more environmentally conscious consumers.

By partnering with us, your business can confidently promote its use of 100% renewable energy with clear, credible action that demonstrates your environmental values. We even provide marketing support and verification, helping you tell your green story authentically and effectively to your clients.

  1. Meeting ESG & Regulatory Expectations

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria are now critical benchmarks for businesses, influencing access to funding, procurement contracts, and regulatory compliance. With growing legislation around emissions and net-zero targets, integrating sustainability has become an integral part of all businesses’ decision-making processes and operations.

Renewable energy is a key element of a robust ESG strategy. By powering your operations with clean, locally sourced wind energy, you’re reducing Scope 2 emissions and aligning with the decarbonisation goals that matter to governments, investors, and customers alike.
